Volunteer With the Vikings

The Oshawa Vikings Rugby Club is built on community — and our volunteers are the heart of everything we do. From supporting game days to helping run youth programs, volunteers make it possible for players of all ages to enjoy a safe, organized, and welcoming rugby experience. Whether you have a few hours to spare or want to take on a larger role, there’s a place for you at the Vikings.

Why Volunteer?

Volunteering with the Vikings means more than helping out — it means being part of a family-focused, inclusive club that supports everyone in our community. Volunteers help drive our programs, strengthen our culture, and make rugby accessible to all. It’s also a great way to meet people, build skills, and contribute to a sport you love.

Ways You Can Help

✔ Skilled Trades

The Vikings Rugby Club is always looking to connect with skilled tradespeople who are willing to lend their expertise to help maintain and improve our facilities. If you work in a trade and want to support the club in a meaningful, hands-on way, we’d love to hear from you.

✔ Coaching & Assistant Coaching

Support youth or senior teams with guidance, structure, and encouragement. Training is provided for all new coaches.

✔ Team Managers

Help organize schedules, communication, equipment, and game-day logistics.

✔ Game Day Support

Scorekeeping, field setup/takedown, timekeeping, and ensuring matches run smoothly.

✔ Events & Fundraising

Assist with club socials, tournaments, community events, and club-wide fundraisers.

✔ Mixed-Ability Program Support

Help with inclusive training sessions that give players of all abilities a safe space to enjoy rugby.

✔ Administrative Help

Behind-the-scenes support with registration, communication, and club operations. If you have a unique skill you’d like to offer — photography, social media, sponsorship outreach, graphic design, or anything else — we’d love to hear from you.

Who Can Volunteer?

Parents, alumni, students needing volunteer hours, former players, or community members — everyone is welcome. No rugby experience is required for many roles, and we provide training where needed.
