Mixed Ability Rugby

The Vikings Mixed Ability Rugby program offers an inclusive experience for players of all abilities and backgrounds. The focus is on participation, teamwork, and enjoyment in a safe, supportive environment. Sessions are adaptable and welcoming, allowing players to take part at their own pace while building confidence, skills, and friendships. No rugby experience is required — just a desire to be active and be part of a team. Mixed Ability Rugby reflects the Vikings’ commitment to inclusion and community, ALLOWING EVERYONE to enjoy the game and belong.

Mixed Ability Rugby

The Vikings Mixed Ability Rugby offers a fun, inclusive rugby experience for players of all abilities, with both non-contact and light contact options. Sessions focus on skill development, teamwork, and game play in a supportive environment that welcomes everyone, regardless of experience or ability. The program runs Sundays from 12:30–2:30 PM, with practices and games taking place from July 6 through September 14. New players will receive a training shirt, shorts, and socks as part of their registration.

The International Mixed Ability Rugby Tournament (IMART) is a global celebration of inclusion, community, and the power of sport to bring people together. Teams from around the world come together to compete, connect, and share a common commitment to making rugby accessible to players of all abilities.

The Oshawa Vikings Rugby Club is proud to be part of the IMART community, supporting and participating in an event that reflects the club’s core values of inclusion, respect, and teamwork. Through IMART, the Vikings continue to promote opportunities for players of all abilities to experience rugby in a welcoming, supportive environment.

More than just a competition, IMART is about friendship, shared experiences, and breaking down barriers through sport. On and off the field, the tournament fosters connection, understanding, and lasting relationships among players, coaches, volunteers, and supporters.
